Believe it or not, the secret to healthy good looking hair lies in your kitchen! These quick, easy and cheap hacks will help maintain better hair all round.
1. Vinegar for shine:
Add a teaspoon of vinegar, preferably apple cider vinegar, to a bottle of cool water and rinse your hair with this once you have shampooed and conditioned it. Vinegar acts as a natural conditioner so will leave your hair soft, silky and smooth as well as banish dry scalp and dandruff.
2. Coffee for colour:
If you’re not a fan of using chemical based dyes on your hair this hack works wonders. Add brewed coffee to henna mix before applying it to your hair. The coffee takes away the redness of the henna and leaves you with a darker, more chocolaty brown.
3. Garlic for growth:
Sufferers of alopecia and other hair loss problems have sworn by this method. Massage the inside of a garlic clove to the affected area until it starts to tingle. The garlic stimulates hair follicles, hence the tingling sensation. It’s recommended to do this every day for a few weeks before you start to see results, but it’s definitely worth the wait.
4. Tomatoes for smells:
The above remedies, although effective, may leave an unwanted smell. Don’t worry, we have a hack for that too! Blend a large tomato (or two depending on the length of your hair) and apply it all over your hair. Leave it in for 10-20 minutes then rinse with cool water. Leave it in for longer if the smell is very strong.
