The nights are short and warm and the days are long and sunny – that can only mean one thing: The hottest of our seasons is in full bloom! However, while enjoying the gorgeous weather, we can’t possibly forget about keeping healthy; that’s why we propose a few of our homemade summery drinks that will keep you hydrated and satisfied!
1. HOMEMADE LATTE:
- Instant coffee
- Honey / sweetener / brown sugar
A recipe for two lattes (because drinking coffee together is so much fun!) :
Prepare a cup of coffee (I use two spoonfuls) and leave it to cool down. When it is no longer hot pour the coffee into two tall glasses, then add the honey (again two spoonfuls or more if you please) and add around 250 ml of cold milk. Use a frother to get a nice fluffy texture. You may top it off with ground chocolate or some whipped cream.
2. HOMEMADE SMOOTHIE:
- One or two handfuls of fresh spinach leaves
- One big orange
- One big banana
Peel the fruits and cut them in small cubes; wash the spinach leaves in cold water. Mix all the ingredients using the blender. If the smoothie is too thick feel free to add some water or ice cubes.
3. HOMEMADE ICE TEA:
- 3 tea bags
- Sugar (either brown or regular)
- Well, it’s not really an ingredient but you have to make sure that the pitcher you use is HEATPROOF
Pour 4-5 cups of boiling water into the pitcher with the teabags. Leave it for at least 5 min. Then add the sugar (make it as sweet as you like, treat yourself this summer!) and 4 cups of cold water along with some ice cubes to keep it cool. As a final touch you may add some mint leaves, freshly cut nectarine, peach or lemon slices.
